Faux Pas Prints has been a full service screen printing company since 1993.  We pride ourselves in having state of the art M&R equipment with the ability to print jobs of all sizes. With two automatics and 2 manuals we boast the ability to do 12 shirts for a ball team as well as produce 1000 pieces per hour on our automatics. One 12 color M&R Sportsman automatic, one 8 color M&R sportsman automatic and two 6 color M&R Chameleon manual presses.

Minimum t shirt order – 12 piece.

How are shirts priced? When placing a screen printing order for the first time you will have three costs.

1. Price per shirt. Price can be determined by quantity of shirt order, type and brand of shirt (ie long sleeve vs short, pocket vs no pocket, cotton vs dryfit), colors of imprint on artwork, number of locations of imprint.

2. Screens – screens are a per order fee. Screen costs are $15.00 per color per location for spot color jobs. 4 Color process and spot process screens are $20.00 per color. This cost is not per shirt but is an order cost.

3. Artwork – Artwork is a one time fee as long as there are no changes. Changes consist of size of art, additional information in art (adding or changing phone number or website etc). If art is one color, for example white ink on black shirts, and you wanted to change the shirt color to white with black in that would not be considered a change. How do I order T shirts?

1. First, you will need an idea or art concept that you want on a shirt, hat, towel or embellishable item. What is the theme of your art? Ie. Ball team, corporate outing, restaurant or company uniform etc. Your idea, or your artwork, can be as simple as one color up to 12 colors. (more colors more cost. On minimum quantity orders you will be regimented to minimal colors of imprint.

2. What features does your shirt need? Do you want a basic t shirt, pocket, long sleeve, tank top, sleeveless t, ringer t or fashion t? As you add features to shirts the costs goes up accordingly. (can we highlight basic t, pocket, long etc for them to click on each shirt to show a picture of each one? We can link to www.alphashirt.com . Basic – g200, pocket – g230, long sleeve g240, tank top g220, sleeveless g270, ringer g260, fashion t 21010.)

3. What color shirt do you want? White shirts are least expensive, followed by light colored shirts, with dark colors being most expensive.

4. How do you want your shirt printed.

Print options:

a. full front print

b. center chest print

c. left chest print

d. full back print

e. pocket print

f. sleeve print

g. locker patch (small area under front or back collar. Normally about the size of a left chest logo placed about 2-3 inches below the collar on shirt.

Turn around times for screen printing jobs is usually 10 – 14 working days. Rush orders are available and can come with a rush fee. Depending on nature of rush, that fee can be as much as $50.00.

Faux Pas Prints has a full service embroidery division.  We have 32 heads of embroidery featuring 5 – 6 head Brother embroidery machines and a 2 head Tajima machine.  Our decision to get smaller machines was based on the fact that we wanted to keep our embroidery business as efficient as possible.  This allows us to run smaller jobs or gives us the flexibility to run the same job on multiple machines. 

If it fits on our machines we will embroider it.  Our minimum run is one pc, however we like orders to stay in quantities of 6.  This allows us to maximize our efficiency and keep all heads on machines running. 

How embroidery is priced:

Embroidery is priced by the quantity of stitches in a logo as well as the cost of the garment being embellished. 

On normal embroidery jobs there are 2 costs when doing embroidery.

1.      One time art fee for making logo embroiderable.  $10.00 per thousand stitches.  Most left chest logos are 7-8k stitches.

2.      Cost per item which includes embroidery.

For embroidery art we can use jpgs for most embroidered logos.  Detail and clarity of supplied logos are what determines whether a logo is usable.

There may be shipping costs for embroidery jobs depending on size of the order as well as the product being embroidered.

Promotional items are products that are meant to advertise and promote ones company, cause or event. Items such as pens, koozies, bags, umbrellas, pads and mugs are examples of promotional items. Options of promotional items are limitless. Please see our list of categories on our QUICK SEARCH to see thousands of available items, minimums associated with these products, as well as their cost.

Cost such as art/setup and freight can all be associated with promotional product orders. These items are not produced in our factory. These products are being printed by the manufacturers of these products. That being said, production calendars are based on these manufacturers schedules.

Faux Pas Prints has a full service in house art department.  From logo creation, vectorization and creative development, our art department can do it all.

Art is priced at $50.00/hour with a half hour minimum. 

On new screen printed jobs, THERE IS ALWAYS an art charge.  Even if a logo is supplied in the best form, we still need to color separate and print separations on film.  The cost to reproduce is cheaper when hi quality art is supplied.  Please see below for art guidelines.

Art Guidelines

Artwork is considered "ready" when it can be used for prepress and printing without the need for adjustments that may possibly incur added fees or result in delays. When submitting digital art files to Faux Pas Prints please refer to the below guidelines.

Vector Art Requirements

Vector artwork files must be saved up to Adobe Illustrator® CS3 or in EPS or PDF Vector files. All text fields must be converted to curves or outlines to prevent font substitutions. Include a proof of your design with color designations to confirm that no font substitutions have occurred. All objects must have at least a 1 pt line thickness to guarantee proper print quality. If the vector file contains any placed raster images, these images must meet or exceed our requirements for resolution when rendered at 100% of the final imprint size. Also, they must be submitted with the original vector file.

Raster Art Requirements

We will accept raster artwork files saved in a .TIF, Encapsulated Post Script (.eps) format, or an Adobe Photoshop® Document (.psd) up to Adobe Photoshop® CS3. For our purposes, all raster elements and art files must be saved at 100% of the final print size with a resolution of at least 300 ppi (pixels per inch).

Preferred Applications

We will accept files saved in Adobe Illustrator® up to Version 12, providing that all text is converted to curves or outlines. We will also accept files saved in Adobe Photoshop® up to Version 9 at 100% of final print size with a resolution of at least 300 ppi. Jpegs are most often useless but can be replicated for use in screen-printing at an hourly art fee. ($50.00/hour)

Font Information

For vector art, text must be converted to paths, curves, or outlines. The text then becomes an object and can no longer be edited as text. Be sure to include a paper proof composite with color call-outs or a. tiff or .jpg thumbnail to ensure no font substitution has taken place.

Line Thickness

All design elements should contain a line thickness of at least 1pt. Failure to assign a 1 pt line thickness to all objects may compromise the final imprint quality.

Spot Colors

Please specify color via PMS spot color designations. Due to hardware and software color calibration considerations, this will allow the best color matching possible.  PMS colors will be used as a REFERENCE only, unless customer needs PMS color match.  PMS color match will cost $25.00 / color for custom color matching.


When sending art via e-mail, send to Art Department and attach your file to an e-mail with a detailed account of who you are and what you would like us to do with the attachment(s). If your files are larger than 8MB please forward via conventional mail on CD or must use internet uploads such as Yousendit.com


When creating designs for our customers, proofs are a way of assuring that we have set your type correctly and that all of the design elements are placed according to your requirements. A proof will be sent to you online or printed on paper that can be approved at our office or delivered to you. We do not start on your project until you have signed off on a proof.

When artwork has previously been created, proofs are used to ensure that the artwork we have received is the same as artwork the customer wants to be imprinted. Artwork should never be submitted without either a hard copy proof or an electronic .jpg or .pdf file.
